How Alta Uses AI to Improve Go-to-Market

AI can make go-to-market teams faster, but Stav Levi Neumark does not believe technology should remove people from the work that matters most. The CEO and co-founder of Alta sees the greater opportunity in connecting data, automating repetitive execution and giving sales and marketing professionals more time for judgment, creativity and relationships.

In an IsraelTech interview hosted by Yoel Israel, Stav discussed the problem that inspired Alta, how its three AI agents work and why customers still need human guidance to benefit from go-to-market technology.

Why Go-to-Market Infrastructure Is Difficult to Build

Alta grew from a problem Stav encountered at monday.com. Marketing and sales teams had access to growing amounts of technology and data, but their systems were fragmented and difficult to use together.

Stav joined monday.com when it had roughly 15 employees. There, she built an internal tool called BigBrain and saw how connecting business data with marketing decisions could improve a go-to-market engine.

As AI capabilities advanced, Stav saw an opportunity to make that infrastructure available to more companies. Instead of requiring every team to assemble its own integrations, workflows and data layer, Alta could provide those capabilities as a service.

How Alta’s Three AI Agents Work

Alta connects with more than 50 data sources, according to Stav, including CRM systems, call-recording platforms and product data. Three specialized AI agents use that information across the customer journey.

Katie, Alex and Luna

Katie supports outbound engagement by helping determine the right audience, timing, message and channel. Alex focuses on inbound leads and expansion opportunities, including lead preparation, follow-ups and upselling. Luna continuously reviews connected data to surface campaign ideas, missed opportunities and actions across the funnel.

Stav does not present these agents as employees. Alta encourages customers to disclose when AI communicates with prospects or customers because concealing automation behind apparently human messages can damage trust.

Why Companies Still Need Human Guidance

Alta initially expected customers to adopt the platform through a self-service experience. Testing showed that companies wanted to speak with a person. Teams saw AI’s potential but did not always know which go-to-market motion suited their business.

Alta therefore paired its platform with growth strategists who help customers select a commercial objective, create a plan and tailor the technology around it.

Technology Adoption Requires Organizational Change

Sales hears objections, marketing sees campaign behavior and customer teams understand retention. AI can connect those signals, but people must decide which questions matter and how to act on the answers.

How AI Changes Marketing, Sales and Support

Stav divides AI’s impact into three categories: empowering people, replacing repetitive work and creating capabilities that did not previously exist. The balance varies by function.

In marketing, AI creates new discovery channels, including product recommendations from AI assistants. In sales, technology can prepare information and handle repetitive work while people manage relationships. Stav expects more routine support tasks to be automated, while customer success will continue to require customer understanding.

Data Should Strengthen Human Judgment

Despite building an AI company, Stav does not place data above intuition. A founder or marketer may believe an audience, campaign or message deserves attention. Data can confirm the pattern, challenge the assumption or show where the instinct needs refinement.

The goal is to focus people on work where they add distinctive value: building relationships, interpreting context, creating original positioning and making strategic tradeoffs.

An in-person conversation can create a partnership that automation would never initiate. AI can reduce manual work, but people still contribute creativity, context and trust.

How Stav Builds Culture at Alta

Stav sees trust and enjoyment as foundations for a team that needs to move quickly. Perks do not create culture by themselves. More meaningful satisfaction comes from solving problems together, sharing progress and pursuing a goal that everyone understands.

She also emphasizes ownership and accountability. Employees remain engaged when they see their effect on the company’s direction. Alta has worked with a psychologist since its early days to support communication and personal development.

Building a Startup While Becoming a Mother

Stav became a founder and a mother at nearly the same time. After one month of maternity leave, she returned to work and created a firm boundary between 7:00 and 9:00 p.m. That time belongs to her daughter, and her team knows not to schedule meetings then.

The constraint made her more deliberate. Instead of treating availability as unlimited, she must decide what deserves attention and complete important work within clearer boundaries. Her wider lesson is consistent with Alta’s approach: measurement and technology are most useful when they help people make better decisions.
